thank you guitar people for lovely times on thursday and yesterday, and thank you mydearscones for making my day on friday.
the past one and a half weeks have been a splendid time of rest. i originally intended to study a bit during the holidays but in the end i only managed a little bit of econs and math. partly because i was out so much, and partly because when i was at home i couldn't really bring myself to study, except on some occasions.
but in a way i'm glad i didn't get to study much actually, cos i think we all deserved and needed a little break after prelims, me included. cos from now on until 22nd nov, i doubt i'll be able to go out anymore.
i remember in sec 4, one of our teachers told us that we need to pace ourselves to peak on 2 occasions, the first at prelims, and the second at the major exams, in this case A levels. and the second peak should obviously be higher. but before you can peak the second time, you need to allow for a little dip.. to recuperate, if you like. i suppose it's like a pit stop, to refuel ourselves for the rest of the race. you can't keep studying persistently right after prelims, or else you'll burn out and peak before A levels. then you'll be out of fuel for A levels and can't perform to your optimum. at least i think that's the way it works that way for me.
since prelims ended, i've been doing lots of fun stuff. crashing guitar prac, ratatouille, hairspray, shopping, eating, baking, playing piano, playing guitar, reading, house visiting, bowling, seoul garden-ing, scone'settlers cafe' gathering, open house and a whole lot more.
actually, i play piano and guitar even when exams are around the corner and during exams so i suppose that doesn't really count as additional stuff i've been able to do. it's a really good way of de-stressing. and so is listening to music when you're studying. it provides some variation. i will be doing a lot of it in the 6 weeks or so in the run-up to the A levels.
anyway this entry is getting rather long so i shall stop. here.
